a little more on NYE:

Santo's has the best sound system ever. Thank you Santo's. Best New York show so far.

Related note:

Andrew WK is really, really nice. POSI.

Verizon "accidentally" canceled our internet, and now cannot turn it back on. They are all out of DSL for our area. My jaw dropped when he told me this. Like "REALLY?... REALLLLY?" You know it's "really" when they agree that you should look to one of their competitors. WTF. Once again I am back in the hallway, stealing a weak signal from a network across the street. FUCK.

I finally broke my nocturnal cycle and was awake before 10 today... productive!

christmas day!

big dinner was christmas eve night as is dradish w/ my fam. it was appropriately filling and yummy and then we all watched Scrooged, which is something of a tradition as well. I explained to my mom who David Johansen is. I was amazed at how Bobcat Goldthwait, in the bit where he's drunk and stalking Bill Murray with a shotgun, sings christmas songs and sounds dead-on like Conor Oberst. Other awesome people in that movie include Mary-Lou Retton, Paul Shaffer, and Miles flippin' Davis(!).

i went on netphoria for the first time in ages and ended up finding this screen-cap of me from the Pumpkins doc...

this morning was breakfast and presents and all that. i got some dollars, specifically to be spent on warm boots. gifts bought for mom and dad were well received, etc.

Then I went to the movies with my parents and we saw Frost/Nixon, which was pretty great. I haven't caught much in the theater lately, but what I have (that and Slumdog Millionaire), were both great.

Bedtime now, up early tomorrow for my long journey back to brooklyn.

goodbye west coast! I wish I'd had one more burrito.
